Biography

 

Declan Tse is a versatile artist who performs extensively as a solo and collaborative pianist. Mr. Tse has been a guest pianist for the 58th and 59th Hong Kong Baptist University Commencement. Tse is the first prize winner of the Brookings Harbour music competition and the GCC Series Piano Concerto Competition. He performed as a solo pianist in KCIW radio program “Coastal Classics”. He has appeared in the Pablo Casals Festival 2018 to study and perform chamber music. Tse was invited to premiere new music in Academic Community Hall in 2018. His concert activities have taken him to Asia, Europe, and North America in venues such as Hong Kong City Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Academic Community Hall, Oregon Center for the Arts, Église Saint-Étienne d’Espira-de-Conflent, Église Saint-Étienne de Campoussy.

Mr. Tse is currently studying Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance with full graduate teaching assistantship under Dr. Jasmine Arakawa. He earned his Master of Music in Piano Performance at the Southern Oregon University with full graduate teaching assistantship under the guidance of Dr. Alexander Tutunov. Mr. Tse has earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree, with first class honours from Hong Kong Baptist University where he studied piano with Prof. Nancy Loo. During his studies, he has taken master classes from Alon Goldstein, Angela Cheng, Jérôme Granjon, Daniel Epstein, Thomas Rosenkranz, Oliver Triendl. Tse is a recipient of the Cascade International Scholarship and Brookings Harbour Music scholarship.
